This system integrates a rigid column, motorized traversing mechanism, vertical lift assembly, and PLC-controlled positioning system. When coupled with a submerged arc welding unit, it achieves precision welding of external longitudinal/circumferential seams with automatic path alignment and minor curvature compensation, while enabling synchronized welding head and workpiece positioning.
