The chromium-plated layer has a high hardness, and the hardness can vary in a wide range of 400 ~ 1200HV according to the composition and process conditions. Chromium plating layer has good heat resistance, heat under 500 ℃, its gloss, hardness, no obvious changes, temperature higher than 500 ℃ oxidation discoloration, greater than 700 ℃ to reduce hardness. The chromium-plated layer has a low friction coefficient, especially the dry friction coefficient, which is the lowest among all metals. So the chromium plating has good wear resistance.
